EFFET DE DIFFERENTS TYPES D'AERATION STATIQUE SUR LE BIOCLIMAT DES ABRI-PLASTIQUES

In Tunisia, the greenhouses are traditionaly aerated by lateral aeration splits of plastic sheets which are not adequate to get good temperature control starting on march for spring crops and during the september-october period for automnal crops.

In order to obtain lower temperature we tried three new static aeration systems by increasing the surface of these lateral openings from 0.02 m2 /m2 (traditional case) to respectively 0.35, 0.41 and 0.45 m2 /m2 of greenhouse area.

The three new systems have produced similar improvements :

  • a decrease of the air maximal temperature by 4°C and 1°C respectively at 20 cm and 100 cm above the ground,
  • a decrease of 1°C to 1.5°C of the soil temperature measured at 7cm depth,
  • an important increase in the air renewal rates reaching about 4 to 5 times the one obtained with the traditional aeration system,
  • almost no effect on the air hygrometry which remains under optimal levels.
