EVALUATION OF METHODS FOR CONTROLLING RED CORE IN FRANCE FOR 5 YEARS

J.G. Nourrisseau, A. Baudry, M. Clerjeau
Red Core disease was introduced in France in 1982. Above all, dispersal of the fungus was due the contamination of plants. Two kinds of measures were then taken : improvement of sanitary conditions and controls in nurseries to produce certified plants; use of fungicides and cultural practices in strawberry fields. This paper describes these measures and indicates they led to a significant decreasing of the disease.
