EVALUATION OF METHODS FOR CONTROLLING RED CORE IN FRANCE FOR 5 YEARS
Red Core disease was introduced in France in 1982. Above all, dispersal of the fungus was due the contamination of plants.
Two kinds of measures were then taken : improvement of sanitary conditions and controls in nurseries to produce certified plants; use of fungicides and cultural practices in strawberry fields.
This paper describes these measures and indicates they led to a significant decreasing of the disease.
