The salient features of three methods for estimating resistance to Rhizoctonia fragariae, Rhizoctonia solani and Verticillium dahliae in seven new commercial strawberry cultivars (Addie, Brio, Cesena, Dana, Etna, Ferrara and Gea) are reported. To confirm the reliability of results, Belrubi and Gorella cultivars were employed for comparison, the former being known for its sensitivity to V. dahliae and the latter, to Rhizoctonia spp.
