INFLUENCE OF CLIMATIC CONDITIONS ON THE TIMING OF VEGETABLE FIELDPRODUCTION IN YUGOSLAVIA
Today in Yugoslavia an intensive study is carried out on the development of agricultural potentials. Within this framework an important place is deserved to the study of ecological conditions of particular regions with the aim to understand their significance from the point of view of optimal location and specialized mono-cultures.
Special interest is devoted towards the development of vegetable production for the increase of domestic consumption and the feasibility for export. This paper comprises a general review from a comprehensive study on the effect of location and timing of vegetable production under field conditions in relation to the climatic character of the main producing centres of Yugoslavia.
