EXPERIMENT ON REGENERATION OF OLIVE ORCHARDS IN HVAR ISLAND
An olive orchard of Cv.
Oblica was regenerated on the island Hvar in 1979. The regeneration was done by sawing back the whole tree at the ground level (model "A") or by maintaining the old tree alive for 6–7 years and at the same time regenerating the canopy from its crown shoots (model "B"). The vegetative growth and yield of the regenerated olive trees were measured.
The results showed that Model "A" was a better issue than Model "B".
