MICROPROPAGATION OF ARTOCARPUS HETEROPHYLLUS THROUGH IN VITRO SHOOT PROLIFERATION ON NODAL EXPLANTS OF MATURE TREES

SHYMAL K. ROY, T. HOSSAIN, S. BILKIS
Micropropagation of Artocarpus heterophyllus was acheived by culturing nodal explants of mature trees on MS (Murashige and Skoog, 1962) revised medium. Shoot induction and multiplication was acheived with 1.0 mgl-1 BA and 0.5 mgl-1 NAA or IAA. Rooting occured best in MS medium with 0.05 mgl-1 Kn + 1.5 mgl-1 IBA. Regenerants were successfully established on soil.
