FACTORS DETERMINING MINERAL UPTAKE IN VITRO

R.R. Williams
Mineral nutrient uptake in vitro is affected by medium composition, plant tissue composition and the culture environment. The general pattern of uptakets is similar to in vivo plants except for a reduction in Ca. Definition of these factors is the first step towards developing a model to predict suitable media compositions based on analysis of in vivo grown plant tissues.
