INDUCTION OF ROOTS FROM REGENERATED SHOOTS OF TEA (CAMELLIA SINENSIS L.)

Out of several methods tested, liquid shake culture was efficient in root initiation and growth but none of the plantlets survived in the nursery as compared to soil:peat (1:1) mixture and filter paper bridge system. Altogether 46 plantlets were transplanted in the field.
