USE OF BITREX (METHAZOLE AND PYRIDATE) IN ORNAMENTAL BULB PLANTS

L. Ondrusková, J. Spurny, J. Václavik
In several kinds of flower bulbs as Tulipa sp., Narcissus sp., Gladiolus sp., Lilium sp., Allium sp., Scilla sp. etc. methazole 28.1% + pyridate 28.1% (common name Bitrex, Agrolinz) was used in two year trials as a postemergence herbicide to evaluate phytotoxicity and find out a possibility to replace triazine herbicides. No phytotoxicity to any kind of bulbs with the exception of one tulip cultivar was observed.

Herbicide efficacy was sufficient till the harvest time.
