POLYMORPHISM IN THE ISOZYME ESTERASE: POSSIBILITIES FOR AN EFFICIENT IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM OF TULIP CULTIVARS

G. Booy, T.H.M. Venne, J. van der Schoot
The possibilities of an identification system for tulip cultivars in dry bulb stage, based on protein markers, was investigated. Using bulb extract, the 13 cultivars analyzed could be uniquely identified after native polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE) in combination with staining for the isozyme esterase.
