CARBON DIOXIDE SUPPLY AND NET PHOTOSYNTHESIS

J.F. Bierhuizen
Net photosynthesis has been described as a diffusion process, in which the various parameters involved in the resistance pathway and the carbon dioxide gradient have been discussed. The stomatal resistance (rs) is extremely important, while closing of stomates upon carbon dioxide supply may occur. The quantitative effect of CO2 supply on net photosynthesis depends on the species for which as yet no general rules can be given.
