EFFECTS OF WATER TABLE ON POTATO CROP GROWTH AND YIELD
The yield and growth results of trials conducted on potatoes of the Primura variety, grown in field with a water table at depths of between 80 and 170 cm are reported.
Marketable yield increased by 21% for a water table depth of 80 cm compared to that of 170 cm, with a particular increase in the number of tubers having a diameter greater than 60 mm.
The best growth parameters were obtained with a water table depth of about 100 cm.
