A METHOD FOR THE CHEMICAL EVALUATION OF A THERAPEUTIC COMPOUND IN CRUDE DRUGS USED IN THE FORMULA OF ORIENTAL MEDICINES

The diagnostic method of Chinese herbal medicine is quite different from that of western medicine.

According to Chinese herbal healing therapy, the combination of herbs is used. The formula is decided to establish the confirmation.

The establishment of the confirmation is done to diagnose at which stage of the six the patient is, if he is in firm confirmation or in weak confirmation, if there is any stagnant of air or blood, or not, if there is any accumulation of water toxin etc., according to four methods: (1)Visual observation, (2) Hearing and Smelling, (3) Questioning and (4) Palpation by feeling the pulse and the abdomen. According to this diagnostic approach, the patient is decided to be either in Yang or Ying. Each Yang or Ying is further divided to the following three steps:
