TESTING OF STRAWBERRY GENOTYPES FOR CULTIVATION IN NON-SOIL CONDITIONS
In the greenhouse conditions there were tested four varieties of strawberries - Dagmar, Zefyr, Fratina and Elista in soil (control) and hydroponic conditions with aeration of nutritious solution. From each variety involved in experiment, there were used meristematic plants and plants obtained from winners. Meristematic plants were transplanted directly from test-tubes into hydroponics and soil. The time of plant cultivation in testing conditions lasted 140 days, from November 25 to March 15. Manifestation of transplanting-stress was greater in meristematic plants cultivated in soil. More sensitive reaction at transplanting of varieties Dagmar and Zefyr were determined on hydroponic conditions and varieties Fratina and Elista on soil conditions. Influence of hydroponic conditions was positively manifested in meristematic plants at tillering, varieties Daymar and Elista; at flowering in varieties Elista and Fratina and at the time of fruit-formation in variety Fratina. Meristematic plants cultivated in hydroponic conditions averaged 11 leaves more than plants cultivated in soil. There was confirmed the possibility of strawberries-growing during non-vegative period in non-soil conditions.
