The effect of crude and partially purified P. cactorum culture filtrate on leaf disc ion leakage of ‘Cesena’ and ‘Pajaro’ strawberry varieties, differing in their field susceptibility to the disease, were compared for the definition of the solution with the highest selection efficiency. Starting from ‘Pajaro’ petal and receptacle explants, plant regeneration was obtained. Differences induced by partially purified filtrate on leaf disc ion leakage of 135 regenerants were evaluated.
