THE USE OF CEPA, SADH AND MINERAL SALTS TO DEFOLIATE APPLE TREES IN NURSERIES

A. Basak, L.S. Jankiewicz, A. Czynczyk
CEPA, in concentrations greater than 2000 ppm, satisfactorily defoliated apple trees while inhibiting tree growth and increasing flowering. However, sometimes bark injury and a lowered resistance to frost was experienced. These harmful effects were reduced and better defoliation obtained by using CEPA at 1000 ppm together with CuSO4 at 0. 75%.
