INHERITANCE OF SIX ENZYMATIC SYSTEMS IN HAZELNUT

The polymorphism and inheritance of six enzymatic systems (6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase, malate dehydrogenase, aconitase, phosphoglucoisomerase, phosphoglucomutase and glutamate oxalacetate transaminase), were analysed in leaf tissue of seedlings from nine progenies of hazelnut (Corylus avellana L.), using horizontal starch gel electrophoresis. The results suggested the existence of 10 polymorphic loci. Mendelian inheritance was demonstrated for all of them: 6Pgd-2 (3 alleles), Mdh-1 (2 alleles), Aco-1 (4 alleles), Aco-2 (3 alleles), Pgm-1 (2 alleles), Pgm-2 (2 alleles), Pgm-3 (5 alleles), Pgi-2 (2 alleles), Pgi-3 (3 alleles) and Got-2 (2 alleles). The presence of null alleles in the Pgm-1 and Pgm-3 loci was detected.
