SEASONAL TREND OF FLAVONOIDS, FLAVONOID GLYCOSIDES AND BIFLAVONOIDS IN TEN OLIVE CULTIVARS.

Leaves were collected each month along one year from ten olive cultivars. The amounts of quercitrin, luteolin, luteolin-7-glucoside, chlorogenic acid and three unidentified biflavonoids were evaluated. The amount of phenolic compounds changes along the year and the variations can be correlated to phenological events. Flavonoids, under selected experimental conditions, may be used in order to discriminate intraspecific characters.
