According to the results of the research, during the day when the screens were open in the plastic houses, it was determined that, in the first year of the experiment, an average of 25 % less and in the second year 29 % less solar radiation entered as compared with the unscreened double plastic house the unscreened single plastic house. However, in houses with and LS-17 screen, 34 % less solar radiation was admitted in the first year and 37 % less in the second year as compared with the unscreened double covered greenhouses. On the other hand, if the photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) entering in the plastic houses is taken into account, it was found that 5 % less PAR entered the unscreened double covered roof plastic house as compared with the unscreened single plastic house in the first year and was 10 % less in the second year. However, the PE screened single plastic house admitted 20 % less PAR than the unscreened single plastic house in the first and second years. In addition to these results, it was found that the stem diameters of the plants was decreased, and plant heights and internode lengths were increased in the LS-17 screened house, because of the lower levels of solar radiation.
