CONNECTIONS IN THE PRODUCTION AND STORAGE OF STONE FRUITS*

L.Z. Kiss
The storing of fruit in Hungary has fallen, in part because of the strong drop in living standards and in part because of the crisis in agricultural production. In effect, only apples and pears are stored.

Notwithstanding, or even because of this, it seems that about the year 2000, agricultural production will stabilize (assuming it has not fallen victim to party struggles). At the same time as improved supply, an increase in exports is expected, together with, of course, increased production. This trend may have a positive impact on the consumption of stone fruits and, as a consequence, on their storgage.
