VARIATIONS OF MORTHOLGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF LILIUM HANSONII RELATED WITH PROTIEN AND ISOZYME BANDS
Lilium hansonii collected from Ulreung Island were classified into three groups based on the number of layer: two, three and four layer whorled leaf. Proteins and isozymes from bulb scales of each plant were extracted to analyze banding patterns by using polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The group with two layer whorled leaf strains were easily distinguished from three layer whorled leaf group by one protein band in the position of 25 kilodalton. However, a few plants belonging to the same group showed different protein patterns having one or more extra bands demonstrating that another variations could be exist among plants which have same layer number of whorled leaf. The similar results were observed in esterase and peroxidase suggesting that isozyme system can also be used to study the variations of Lilium hansonii.
