SHELL DEHISCENCE IMPROVEMENT AND WEIGHT INCREASE IN 'AEGINA' PISTACHIO NUTS WITH CARBOHYDRATE APPLICATIONS
Pistachio-trees of Aegina variety were sprayed with mixture of Carbohydrates in different dates of the vegetative period. The application dates were derived in two blocks. In the first block the carbohydrate sprays were applied on 20th, 10th, and 30th of July. The second block of application dates was on 25th June, 15th July and 5th August respectively. In every block of dates four trees were used, which every tree was considered as a repetition. The second block of dates application gave the best results. The improvement of the shell dehiscence in percentage was 85–95% and the increase on the dry weight percentage of nuts was 8–10%.
