MEDICINAL PLANTS OF COMPOSITAE FAMILY IN KARABAKH FOLK MEDICINE

Karabakh is situated in the south-eastern part of Minor Caucasus (within the limits of Azerbaijan). Plain and mountain Karabakh comprise 25 percent of the territory of the republic. In all Karabakh plant formations, the medicinal plants used in folk medicine are presented in a great variety. There are 420 species of Compositae family, and more than 200 species of them (about 50%) are grown in Karabakh.
