Production of protected vegetables

Data given on the importance of the main vegetables grown under protection : acreage, production of the different Italian regions; critical analysis of the grounds for their expansion; comparison of protected and open field production.

Furthermore, an analysis is made of the trade destination of the crops (export and internal market). Information is given on the reasons for the choice of varieties in the following species: strawberry, tomato, pepper, aubergine, squash and melon.
