Until the writer has gained more experience of international audiences of technical workers in horticulture, he is not clear about the value of an economic approach, or what it should offer if it is to be of service. The paper looks in broad terms at the prima facie value of a north-Mediterranean location for growing vegetables to be supplied to the U.K. early in the calendar year.
