Fiskobirlik, is the biggest producing union of 70 cooperatives with 200.000 members and as well as 200.000 non-members.

During the I.National Hazelnut Congress held in Ankara on 10 October 1935, it was offered to established a union named Fiskobirlik, the union of Agricultural Cooperatives for the sale of Hazelnut, in order to protect the rights of the farmers and evaluate their products. After two days the law no.2834 for Agricultural Unions was accepted. Then, it was founded on 28 July 1938 by the combination of five cooperatives in Ordu, Giresun, Kesap and Trabzon. The structure of Fiskobirlik today, has been regulated according to the law no.3186 which became valid in 1985. Fiskobirlik's principal function is the most efficient evaluation of the product offered by the member cooperatives, the protection of its member interests and the general coordination of their work.
