INVESTIGATIONS OF DIFFERENT METHODS OF PROPAGATION FOR HAZELNUT IN ROMANIA

G. Achim, P. Parnia
For establishing the most efficient way of vegetation propagation for hazelnut in Romania, there were studied different methods.

Fruit Growing Research Station Vâlcea started in 1987 researches concerning vegetative propagation on hazelnut. By budding in the field and grafting in protected rooms there were achieved high successful percents (more then 60% for budding and more than 80% for grafting).

In order to have higher successful rate, after grafting in protected rooms, there were applied callus stimulation by heat (26–27°C) only for the incised area, because of the cellular division of this.

The installation which produced this stimulation is original, personal constructed and it was made at Research Station Vâlcea after the principle “hot callusing”.
