REPORT ON "INTERNATIONAL TRIALS ON PLUM ROOTSTOCKS"

R. Renaud
These trials on plum rootstocks were initiated in 1989 at the IVth Symposium of Plum and Prune Genetics working group, taking place at Bordeaux.

At that time, we decided that the INRA Station "La Grande Ferrade" would be the coordinator of this study.

At the International ISHS Congress in 1990 at Firenze we organized the preparation of these trials:

  1. List of rootstocks and varieties.
  2. The majority of rootstocks were rooted at INRA Grande Ferrade.
  3. Nursery production of trees at the INRA field station "La Tour de Rance" for Prunus domestica (Table fruit variety) and Prunus Salicina.

For the trial with Zwetsche varieties, nursery production was made in each country. The three following tables give information on countries, varieties and rootstocks studied.
