THE PHENOLOGY OF THE FIG FLY AND ITS CONTROL

D. Raz
The Fig Fly (Silba adipata) and the Mediterranean Fruit Fly (Ceratitis capitata) are important pests in fig production mainly in eastern and southern Mediterranean countries and Japan. Investigations on these pests are very limited due to the significance of fig production in these regions. For 5 years (1988–89, 1993–95) McPhail traps baited with Hexanol and 2 % Ammonium sulphate were tested to find the population distribution.
