YIELD GRADIENTS IN COCOA (THEOBROMA CACAO L.) - SHADE AND FERTILIZER EXPERIMENTS

E.E.N.A. Bonaparte
In a study of Amelonado cocoa conducted at Tafo, yield was not significantly affected either by species of shade tree or by the distance of the cocoa tree from the shade tree. Fertilizers produced highly significant yield increases, irrespective of distance of the cocoa trees from the shade trees. The results are discussed in the light of apparently conflicting results obtained in other work.
