ISOLATION OF CONSTITUENTS AS ANALGESIC AGENTS FROM LAVOISIERA PULCHERRIMA DC. (MELASTOMATACEAE)

C.M. Jamal, K.G. Tavares, D.S. Raslan, M.C.M. Miraglia, I.D.G. Duarte
From the aerial parts of Lavoisiera pulcherrima pentacyclic triterpenes, long chain aliphatic esters and a mixture of ferulic acid esters were isolated by column chromatography over silica gel. Extracts and pure compounds: hexacosanoate of hexadecanil, betulinic acid, and a mixture of esters from Ferulic acid were tested as analgesic agents.
