EFFECT OF GA3, NAA AND CPPU ON FRUIT RETENTION, YIELD AND QUALITY OF MANGO (CV. ARUMANIS) IN EAST JAVA
The study on plant growth regulators such as NAA, GA3, and CPPU sprayed to Arumanis mango trees at 14 days after blooming to see the effect on fruit retention, yield and fruit quality was conducted at the private mango orchard in Probolinggo, East Java.
The results showed that CPPU (1-(2-chloro-4-pyridyl)-3-phenylurea) at 10 ppm, gave the best result in increasing fruit retention, number of fruit per cluster and per plant, weight of one fruit, fruit volume and leaf area.
Whereas the quality of fruit harvested is not different among the treatments and the control.
Using CPPU showed an indication of giving higher monetary return to the growers.
