THE INFLUENCE OF TRANSPLANTS SPACING ON THE EARLINESS OF CAULIFLOWERS

H. Skapski
The introduction into transplants production of plastic pots, which may have any shape and depth, allows to increase number of plants produced per unit of area. The limiting factors is than not the amount of soil inside the pot, space for root growth and the amount of nutrient available, but the amount of light dependent from the plant spacing. Because the earliness of vegetable crops has great influence on their price in Poland, two year experiments were performed to find out the optimum spacing for cauliflower transplants.
