PROLONGING THE SHELF LIFE OF FRESH-CUT MELONS BY HIGH SALT AND CALCIUM IRRIGATION DURING PLANT GROWTH AND FRUIT DEVELOPMENT

H. Borochov-Neori, I. Shomer
Irrigation of muskmelon plants with saline water and application of calcium during fruit development improved the quality of 14-day refrigerated fresh-cut fruit. The effects of salinity and calcium were additive. Quality improvement related to an increase in fruit dry weight content.
