PACKAGING MATERIALS AFFECT PHYSIOLOGICAL WEIGHT LOSS FRUIT COLOUR AND QUALITY OF MANGO DURING STORAGE
Water loss and premature ripening during postharvest handling have been reported to reduce the quality of mango fruit.
Fruit packaging to reduce water loss delayed fruit ripening in 'Kensington Pride' mango fruits (Macnish et al., 1997). These observations prompted us to investigate the effects of various packaging materials on the physiological weight loss and fruit quality of 'Kensington Pride' mango during storage.
