FRUIT AND VEGETABLES PACKAGES

I. Jacoutet
Because of the very rapid increase in costs of packages during 1973-1974, the Centre Technique Interprofessionnel des Fruits et Légumes has examined solutions that might lead to a reduction of these increases on the distribution costs. Shortage of materials and improvement of adaptation to distribution, and mechanization were other reasons.

The study was limited to French fruit and vegetables on the fresh home market. As pre-packing was excluded, only packages for transport and handling have been taken into account.
