OBJECTIVES AND RESEARCH METHODS FOR GREENHOUSES PEPPER BREEDING

The extension of greenhouses areas in our country, required the settlement of problems in connection with pepper crop. Besides the establishment of some specific technologies, it is necessary enriching the assortment by a large scale of varieties with features coresponding to cultivation in hot-houses. The sensitiveness of these varieties towards diseases (Pochard, Feldman, Kapeller) and the reduced assortment of varieties for hot-houses, have determined many researchers to deal with objectives much alike ours. (Novak, Nikolov, Schiva, Hristov, a.s.o.).

In order to obtain new types, it have been necessary to make some preliminary works, so that at S.C.L. Isalnita have been made research works as: their behaviour against T.M.V. and C.M.V, of some varieties cultivated for the first time in greenhouses and improvement of sensitive as regards to their resistence towards the above mentioned viruses.
