DEVELOPING AN ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS FRAMEWORK FOR PROCESSING TOMATOES. LITERATURE REVIEW OF SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE TO JUNE 2001 - THEORETICAL CONSIDERATIONS
Literature dealing with the subject of sustainable agriculture is reviewed, conceptual models are considered and the state of research and development into the achievement of sustainable land use systems is presented.
It was found that major challenges in the areas of semantics, research methodology and a coordinated and balanced investment of effort into the components of sustainable agriculture, have yet to be addressed.
A set of conclusions and recommendations is presented.
