NEW BULGARIAN TOMATO CULTIVARS FOR PROCESSING
The results of a comparative test of new Bulgarian tomato cultivars suitable for processing are presented.
Cultivars Trapezitza and Bela (Bulgarian selection) and EF 99 (Dutch selection) are used as standards.
New tomato cultivars Galina (determinate, large-fruited) and Zhaklin (determinate, oval-elongated fruit) exceed standards Trapezitza and Bela, accordingly, in the most important morpho-biological characters that determine their suitability for processing.
New Bulgarian determinate large-fruited tomato hybrid Nikolina, in yield, size and fruit quality, exceeds all past Bulgarian cultivars.
Furthermore, it makes even with Dutch hybrid EF 99, which exceeds in above characters other foreign hybrids applied in the production of the country.
New Bulgarian tomato cultivars are being recommended for growing in all Bulgarian regions.
