SUPERIOR SEEDLESS TABLE GRAPE EVAPOTRANSPIRATION UNDER ARID CLIMATE CONDITIONS

O. Miranda, M. Liotta, R. Cornejo
The objective of this work was to estimate the Superior Seedless table grape in Pocito department, San Juan province (Argentina). They were obtained daily consumption of water from an unpublished information of a 10 years lysimeter experience (Grebet´s method), from the estimation of evapotranspiration using the Penman-Monteith equation and from the phenological behavior of the cultivar. Empirical data taken from a class "A" evaporation pan (Epan) during 30 years (from 1970 to 1999) and reference evapotranspiration (ET0) measured with a lysimeter during a period of 10 years (from 1982 to 1992) were used. In order to calculate the theoretical values of ET0 for a 30 years period, the monthly pan coefficient (Kp) that relate Epan to ET0 was determined for the decade 1982-1992. The highest evapotranspiration was found in December, with an average of 236.86 mm/month. The most critical period appears during the last 15 days of the month. Here, it was registered the highest daily water requirement, with an average of 7.73 mm/day. Finally, the evapotranspiration during the annual cycle of the Superior Seedless in the department of Pocito, is 9703.7 m3/ha-year.
