ECONOMICAL ANALYSIS ON THE QUALITY SYSTEMS IN THE ITALIAN WINE INDUSTRY

V.T. Foti
The Italian grape-winegrowing sector has shown in recent years an increasing interest towards quality certifications, which is also due to the introduction of process and product innovations that have involved the various phases of the production chain, therefore proving a certain intuition of the strategic value of the quality regulation (ISO - Vision 2000), in order to work in an ever more competitive and global market context. The research carried out on a sample of Italian oenological firms that have implemented a firm quality system according to the ISO regulations, allows us to identify the most important aspects of the conditions adopted by the system, of the results produced by the optimisation of the productive process and improvement of competitiveness of the firm, as well as the costs and benefits produced from a commercial point of view.
