TRANSMISSIBILITY OF SOME SHARKA VIRUS STRAINS BY MYZUS PERSICAE SULZ., DEPENDING ON VARIOUS INFECTION SOURCES

D. Šutic, M. Babovic, S. Markovic
Necrotic and intermediate strains of the sharka virus have been transmitted by means of Myzus persicae up to 24.5 %, while the yellow one up to 8.0 % of the total of the tested herbaceous plants. Necrotic strain has shown 2.4, while the intermediate one 2.2 times larger concentration of virus in the test plants than the yellow strain. The virus strains and the test plants have dominantly affected the transmissibility and the concentration of the virus strains. Nicotiana acuminata as a test plant (indicator) has been much more suitable than N. clevelandii.
