EFFECT OF OCAK AND SINGLE TRUNK TRAINING SYSTEMS ON YIELD AND NUT QUALITY

A. Islam, A. Turan, H. Kurt
This study was carried out at the Hazelnut Research Institute (Giresun, Turkey) in 2001-2003. The training garden was established in 1992 with the ‘Tombul’ cultivar. In the experimental design, nine trees or nine Ocak (three trees per ocak) were used in each of three treatments. In the results of the study, statistical differences between training systems were not shown. But yields from single trunk training systems were higher than from Ocak and some nut characteristics were also better.
