GERMINATION OF APRICOT SEEDS

L. Kramarenko
Factors influencing apricot seeds germination have been studied in Moscow since 1984. Seeds (stones) were sown in open ground at the second half of summer – in autumn. The revealed factors influencing seeds germination can be arranged according to their importance in the following row: the date of sowing; weather conditions through the whole year (from seeds setting through their germination; soil humidity; structure and nutritiousness; depth of sowing; seed ripeness; genotype peculiarity. Seedlings from seeds of our own reproduction regularly show much better survival as compared with seedling from seeds from other regions.
