A screening of antifungal activity of crude surface exudate of eight species of genus Salvia cultivated as ornamental plants in “Riviera dei Fiori” is reported. In five exudates a significant in vitro activity was detected against Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. basilici, Botrytis cinerea and Rhizoctonia solani, important pathogens of cultivated plants.
