INFLUENCE OF AUXIN AND 1, 2, 4 ACID ON ROOTING OF ROSEAPPLE (SYZIGIUM JAMBOS L.) AIR LAYERS
Investigations on air layering studies in Rose apple were carried out at the Horticulture Research Station, Gandhi Krishi Vignana Kendra, University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore during the year 2000. The influence of different months of layering, and the effect of auxin at different concentrations along with 1,2,4 acid on rooting of layers were studied.
The layers prepared were observed during October.
The layers treated with 5000 mg L-1 IBA in combination with 1000 mg L-1 1,2,4 acid recorded maximum rooting of 66.5 per cent during August and it was lowest in untreated control (0.0%) during October.
