Meiosis of PMC in loquat (Eriobotrya japonica Lindl., cv. ‘Longquan No.1’) was normal and synchronous in each anther. Stages were associated with morphology of buds and anthers. Bouquet-shaped chromosomes were formed in zygotene, but in diakinesis, most of the chromosomes formed bivalents which were in rod, V, O, heart, and dot shapes. In diakinesis univalents (0.98%) and tetravalents (2.94%) were observed. A few laggard chromosomes were observed at anaphase I.
