THE INFLUENCE OF SINGLE AND DOUBLE SHELTERS ON THE CLIMATE AND HEAT CONSUMPTION OF GREENHOUSES.

H. Tantau
The influence of the outside conditions on heat consumption and climate in greenhouses with single and double shelters was calculated by means of a mathematical model. By double sheltering heat consumption can be diminished and the influence of the outside conditions on heat consumption and climate of a greenhouse can be reduced. Double sheltering increases the relative humidity of the air and decreases the transpiration of plants. This reduction is caused by the reduced amount of heat consumption. The heat conversion coefficient, showing the proportion between evapotranspiration and heat consumption is influenced by the physical properties of the shelter material.
