PLUM POX VIRUS DISEASE IN TURKEY
The first observations of plum pox virus (PPV) disease in the world occurred in Bulgaria, symptomatogical descriptions were made and published by Atanasoff in 1932. Then the disease spread wildly in all countries of Europe and especially in Eastern Europe (Bulgaria and Yugoslavia) as an economically important disease of stone fruit trees.
Today PPV was detected in many countries including Turkey.
