DETECTION AND PARTIAL MOLECULAR CHARACTERIZATION OF PPV RECOMBINANT ISOLATES IN LOCALITY
The recent observation of occurrence of PPV isolates and especially PPV-Rec strains showed that they represent a homogenous group evolving independently of PPV-M and PPV-D. In order to study the situation of PPV in the Czech Republic, one orchard was chosen by reason of its age (around 1980) and because it is known to receive infected material from former Yugoslavia.
The population of PPV-Rec from Lipov clusterize with PPV-Rec from Slovakia.
This group is also close to PPV-Rec from Serbia which confirmed the hypothesis that the former Yugoslavia may be a way for PPV-Rec dispersion.
D isolates from Lipov clustered together and in association with BIII/2 and PEZ-1 two D isolates from Slovakia, generated one distinguishable branch.
